Product Description

Developed in partnership with Mark Bell of Super Training Gym, Rogue Weight Releasers offer a new take on a powerlifting classic. These heavy-duty, fully-adjustable steel hook attachments are designed to preload/overload the eccentric portion of a lift, creating greater explosiveness on the concentric end. The base portion of each unit can be loaded with standard Olympic plates, then set at one of 15 height positions using the telescoping, lock-in pin system (Adjustable from 28.75" - 49.75" overall). This means you can quickly adjust the Weight Releasers for both squatting and benching use, and for athletes of any size.

Rogue Weight Releasers

As the user reaches the bottom of their range of movement, and the weight touches the ground, the hooks will safely “release” off of the barbell, cutting the resistance and enabling the user to complete the lift. The hooks include 0.5" thick UHMW plastic on each side to protect the sleeve of your bar from damage during attachment and release.

Rogue Weight Releasers are made in the USA from 0.1875" thick laser-cut steel, with our signature textured black finish and laser-cut Rogue branding on each side. Sold as a set, the two units weigh approx. 35LB unloaded.

Fully Adjustable Eccentric Training

Fully Adjustable Eccentric Training

Weight Releasers have been used by competitive powerlifters for decades, but by working with Mark Bell, we were able to develop a superior design that’s more versatile, durable, and safer to employ. The telescopic adjustment system offers 15 positions ranging from 28.75” to 49.75”, giving lifters the ability to set the hooks at their own preferred height for benching, squatting, etc. The Weight Releasers overload the negative/eccentric portion of the lift (creating greater intramuscular tension), then safely fall off the bar when lifting back up. The result is often greater explosiveness through the concentric movement.

Quality Rogue Construction

Made in the USA, the Rogue Weight Releasers feature a 3/16” laser-cut and welded steel construction, with our signature textured black finish and laser-cut Rogue branding on each side. The full set weighs in at approx. 35 LBS unloaded, with a tolerance of +/- 1 LB. We include 1/2" thick UHMW plastic on each side of the hooks to protect the sleeve of your bar from damage during attachment and release.

Great Addition to our Garage Gym
Just like bands and chains, these are a great way to incorporate accommodating resistance to your lifts. They're only appropriate for 1-rep lifts and this is their only limitation though. When used at correct weights and intensities they are amazing! Overbuilt like everything Rogue produces. I love them.

Top notch Weight releasers
Love them. Easy to load and doesn't damage the barbell. Just make sure you orient them the correct way. I wish they had a laser engraved arrow facing the direction they should be oriented. I just took a picture instead. Worth every penny. Glad i went with this over Titan junk. I use these often in my programs for reactive training. Lifts have skyrocketed as result

28 Years of lifting to get 405lbs+++++
It's no joke! My weekly training is 5 days a week! Tuesdays are my incline chest days after Monday's legs. My one rep max is 295lbs on incline. I used the Weight Releasers for 5 sets of 1 for 325lb eccentric! My chest was so sore for two days. I was fully recovered on the third day. But my fifth workout day is Saturday, which is when I do flat bench, I did 365lb DEAD PRESS for the first time! And I was like WHOA...is that from just doing the Releasers from one day? Anyway, I'm doing a four-week bench routine rotation before I switch off to the Bench Blokz and bands. But I weight bands on Tuesdays, anyway! But now that I got the eccentric weight releaser, I'm going to combine the Weight releasers with the bands tomorrow for 325lbs. My goal is 315lb on incline and 405lbs on the flat bench by June. Now that I'm dead pressing 365lb., i'm 100% confident that I'm finally going to hit 405lbs., June! 28 years of training crazy, I'm finally going to get 405lbs! I'm soooooo ecstatic!

Great for negatives when you're alone...
These are awesome! I bought these for doing heavy negatives at home when I'm alone without a spotter. You can load them up heavy, and they release on the bottom to allow you to lift up a lesser weight. They work Awesome. Well made, heavy duty.

BEST Rouge purchase ever! Set PR in a week!
This did it! I made my ultimate fitness goal thanks to this fantastic invention!! I weigh 165 and my goal was to beat my father's PB of 265 bench when he was my age. I've been stuck in the 250s for a year AND IN A WEEK I ADDED 10 LBS TO MY BENCH PRESS!! I workout alone so without a spotter I can't practice the eccentric portion of the lift with the amount of weight I could actually handle. In simple terms you can bench A LOT MORE WEIGHT down then up. Same with squatting. I USE THE MONOLIFT ATTACHMENT OR COULD NOT USE THIS MUCH OVERLOAD FOE BENCH... For a week I bench pressed down 300 (felt really weird and intimidating) then 180 up. Days later 325 lb down then finally 340lb down. I was so used to handling 300 plus lbs I went for it. Personal pr was 257 but I tried 266 AND COMPLETED THE LIFT!! I beat my dad, made my goal but NOW I have a new goal. Bench in the 300s at bodyweight 165. This tool is going to make that a reality! It's not just for bench press either. Front squatting -when weight releases you'll fall back so lean into it. Back squatting - monolift ideal, if using j hooks walk gently to prevent swinging. Deadlift. Sorry..can't use these but you can set the monolift low to start deadlift at the top. Lastly they're LOUD so jam some of the packing foam into the top plate hole and it'll reduce it by a ton. (I put glow tape on the front edge and write the lbs on it with dry erase markers)

Love these things.
Got mine a week ago, used them that day, and my chest is still sore today! There is a bit of an "adjustment" when using them because of the balance of the bar when they are on but that's to be expected. They are a little pricey BUT, like everything Rogue makes, SOLID.

Releasers without releasing!
If anyone knows the reason why the weight would release only on one side ?! For the moment totally waist of money ! The surface is the same on both sides and the they’ve been adjusted at the same height.
